Sometimes some of the best conversations are those that are unexpected, uninhibited and free of judgement; with someone whom you have shared memories, mutual trust, and respect for. Today I had one of those conversations with a friend from long ago. We laughed, we giggled; we spoke of things that made us real, of memories that made us human.

At times I spoke of you. At times she spoke of her own you. And all of you we spoke of made us smile. Imagine that. Through all the highs, through all the lows, through all the love and tears and woes; through the gift of perspective given us by time . . . it is joy and laughter that prevails.
